Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (TLH) is a major surgery and is typically performed with the assistance of general anaesthesia.

Under this procedure, surgeons make two to three small incisions in the abdomen to insert the medical instruments required in the process.

Following this, the doctor inserts the medical instrument known as a laparoscope, a thin tube with light at the end, to have a better view of the internal organs. After that, they will use specialized instruments to detach the uterus from the ligaments and blood vessels that hold it in place within the pelvis. Once the uterus is completely detached, it is carefully removed through one of the small incisions. If necessary, the surgeon may cut the uterus into smaller pieces to facilitate removal.

After confirming that there is no bleeding and that the abdominal cavity is clear of any tissue remnants, the doctor will remove the instruments and close the incisions.
